  • Scholarships with fixed amount, are payed as one installment to eligible students. These scholarships cover living cost for International students.
  • Scholarships cover your tuition fees for a full year.

Scholarships are divided into two categories, as General scholarships and Faculties scholarships.

General Scholarships 

Scholarships offered by all Faculties at University of Sydney are known as General Scholarships.

These are General Scholarships, you can apply at University of Sydney.

  1. Australia Awards Scholarships
  2. Cormack Rowlands Award have scholarship of  A$1000.  Deadline to apply for this scholarship is 31 March each year. 
  3. Graeme de Graaff & Rosalie McCutcheon Scholarship has value of A$500 to A$750. Students with academic and personal development are preferred for this scholarship. Deadline to apply is 21 September each year. 
  4. International House Entrance Scholarship has funds up to A$10,000. Deadline to apply is 21 September each year.

Faculty Scholarships 

The University of Sydney awards scholarships in specific faculties for bachelor’s degree courses, master’s degree courses and PhD. At first, Scholarships mentioned are offered for Undergraduate courses only. Secondly, Scholarships mentioned are offered for only master degree courses. Thirdly, those scholarships are mentioned, which are offered for all levels of studies at University of Sydney.

Undergraduate Scholarships in Faculties of University of Sydney

Here are Bachelor’s degree scholarships for international students in faculties at University of Sydney. 

Architecture, Design and Planning Dean’s International Merit Scholarship:

This scholarship was established in 2003 by the dean of the Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning. It is An undergraduate scholarship which support international students to pursue study at the Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning. 

Benefits: The amount of scholarship is A$1000. The students with excellent grades are preferred for this scholarship. The scholarship is awarded for one year. 

There is no separate Application process for this scholarship. Student’s Application for admission in bachelor’s degree course is same Application for scholarship. If you get selected for bachelor’s degree course, Eligible candidates for scholarship will be short listed  automatically as part of the admissions process.

Eligibility Criteria:

International students can apply for this scholarship. Students must have completed 12 years of education. At the time of Application of scholarship, Students should enroll in bachelor’s degree course at Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning. It is Merit based scholarship and students with good academic grades have higher chances to grab it.

The scholarship is paid as Lump som amount. Scholarship can be terminated if student does not maintain satisfactory academic performance. 

Deadline to apply for this scholarship is December each year.

Cox Architecture Scholarship at Sydney University: 

It is an undergraduate scholarship and aims to facilitate growth for undergraduate students in the Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning. 

Benefits: The amount of scholarship is A$5000 for a year. The students with average grades (minimum 75%) can apply for this scholarship. The scholarship amount will be paid in two installments in each semester. 

Eligibility Criteria:

At the time of Application of scholarship, Students should enroll in bachelor’s degree course at Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning. You must have completed two years education in bachelor’s degree course at the time of application of scholarship. The student must maintain a minimum of 75% average of grades each semester, to continue the Scholarship.

Deadline to apply for this scholarship is December each year.

Diana Inglis Carment Scholarship:

This scholarship was founded in 1972. It is an undergraduate scholarship which supports students pursuing bachelor’s studies in the Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning. 

Benefits: It is valued A$1500 per year.

Eligibility Criteria:

Student must be enrolled in bachelor’s degree course in the Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning. Student in final year of bachelor’s degree course are preferred. The Scholarship is based on academic merit. The research proposal and personal statement play important role to win this scholarship opportunity.

The scholarship value will be paid as a single payment. 

Deadline to apply for this scholarship is December each year.

JW and BK Elkins Architectural Scholarship:

This scholarship was founded in 1972 and it is under-graduate scholarship. It provides funds to students continuing to their honours year in the Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning. 

Benefits: It is valued A$1500 per year. 

Eligibility Criteria:

Student must be enrolled in bachelor’s degree course in the Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning. Student in final year of bachelor’s degree course are preferred. The Scholarship is based on academic merit. The research proposal and personal statement play important role to win this scholarship opportunity.

Deadline to apply for this scholarship is December to January each year.

Charles Herbert Currey Memorial Scholarship:

This scholarship has been established in 2019. It is an undergraduate scholarship. This scholarship aims to support students who have experienced disadvantage or hardship to participate in an exchange or short-term mobility program. 

Benefits: This scholarship is valued at A$7000 for a semester-long exchange and A$3500 for a short-term mobility program. 

Eligibility Criteria:

Student must be enrolled in bachelor’s degree course in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at University of Sydney. The Scholarship is based on academic merit. The research proposal and personal statement play important role to win this scholarship opportunity.

International and Global Studies Travelling Scholarship:

This Scholarship was established in 2014 And It is an undergraduate scholarship. It supports Bachelor of Advanced Studies (International and Global Studies) and Bachelor of International and Global Studies students to undertake approved exchange overseas. 

Benefits: This scholarship is valued at A$4000. It has duration of six months. The Scholarship value will be paid as a one-off payment. The Scholarship is subject to the availability of funds.

Eligibility Criteria:

Student must be enrolled in the Bachelor of Advanced Studies (International and Global Studies) or the Bachelor of International and Global Studies. Those students are preferred for scholarship, who are selected by the University for a student exchange program. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit for Bachelor degrees.  

International Undergraduate Commencing Scholarship:

It is an undergraduate scholarship in arts and social sciences at University of Sydney. It grants funds to international students for undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. 

Benefits: This scholarship is valued at A$10,000 per year. It is paid in two equal instalments per semester. 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

International students can apply for this scholarship. Student must be enrolled in bachelor’s degree course at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The Scholarship will be awarded on academic merit as assessed from the applicant’s application for admission. As No separate application is required for this Scholarship.

Scholarship is offered for two times in year in October and February respectively. 

James and Moya Kilgannon Scholarship:

This scholarship was established in 2018. It is an undergraduate scholarship. It helps students in the University of Sydney School of Education and Social Work who plan to teach mathematics or science. 

Benefits: This scholarship is valued at A$5,000 per year. It is paid in two equal installments per semester. 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Student must be enrolled in bachelor’s degree course in the Sydney School of Education and Social Work for Mathemtics or Science. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of  academic merit, and feedback from two academic referees. 

Deadline to apply for these scholarships is September each year. 

Bachelor of Arts (Languages) Exchange Scholarship:

It is an undergraduate scholarship. This scholarship supports students studying the Bachelor of Arts (Languages) to undertake an overseas exchange program. 

Benefits: This scholarship is valued at $5000 for one semester only.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Student must be enrolled in bachelor’s degree course of Arts (Languages). Students who are accepted into an overseas exchange program through a student exchange agreement, would be preferred for this scholarship. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of  a letter of acceptance from our Global Mobility Office for an exchange semester, and a letter from the partner University.

Continuing Undergraduate Merit Scholarship:

This scholarship has been established in 2012. It is undergraduate scholarship. Students with excellent grades are preferred for this scholarship. Student needs to maintain 75% average in grades to get benefit from this scholarship.

Benefits: This scholarship is valued at $6000 per year. Payment will be made in equal installments.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Student must be an undergraduate coursework or honors student. If you are specializing in a business discipline, you would be preferred for this scholarship. At the time of scholarship Application, student should not be in receipt of any other primary scholarship.

There is No separate application required. Eligible students are automatically considered based on academic merit.

Master’s Degree & Postgraduate Scholarships in Faculties of University of Sydney

Here are master’s degree & Postgraduate scholarships for international students in faculties at University of Sydney. 

School of Computer Science Postgraduate Coursework Diversity Scholarship:

This Scholarship has been established to expand and enrich the School of Computer Science student community. The Scholarship supports students from these backgrounds to achieve their academic goals in Computer Science.

A scholarship for international students, which recognizes and support outstanding students from diverse cultural, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. 

Benefits: This scholarship is valued at A$6000 for one year only. The Scholarship value will be paid in two equal installments.

 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

International student whose country of origin/citizenship is in Latin America, the Middle East or the Asia Pacific can apply for this scholarship.

Student must have an unconditional offer of admission in one of the following degrees at the time of the scholarship application closing date: 

  • Master of Information Technology
  • Master of Information Technology Management
  • Master of Information Technology and Master of Information Technology Management

Students need to maintain average of 75% in undergraduate studies. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, with reference to both overall academic merit and specific performance in information technology units of study. The Scholarship will be awarded on the recommendation of a selection committee.

School of Computer Science Master of Data Science Entry Scholarship:

A postgraduate coursework scholarship. It is encouraging and supporting high achieving candidates commencing in the Masters of Data Science degree program. 

Benefits: This scholarship is valued at A$6000 for one year only. Students enrolled part-time will receive 50 percent of the full-time rate of this scholarship.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

International students must have an unconditional offer of admission for the Masters of Data Science within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sydney. Students need to maintain average of 75% in undergraduate studies. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of  academic merit, and  performance in quantitative subjects.

The Scholarship will be awarded on the recommendation of a selection committee consisting of the Associate Dean, Indigenous Strategy and Services, Faculty of Engineering, and an academic staff member from the School of Computer Science, or their nominated delegates.

Master of International Business Travel Support Scholarship:

This scholarship has been established by the University of Sydney Business School to support Master of International Business students. Funds are to be used to assist with the program fees, airfares, and other travel expenses for the international study tour component of the International Business Project.

It is postgraduate coursework scholarship. It assists students to undertake the international study tour component of the International Business Project. 

Benefits: This scholarship is valued at up to A$5000, and is paid as one installment.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Students must be enrolled in the Master of International Business. The Scholarship is granted on the basis of academic merit, and a personal statement. The Scholarship is awarded on the nomination of a selection committee consisting of the Program Manager and the Program Director of the Master of International Business.

MBA Director’s Scholarship:

It is MBA program scholarship at University of Sydney for International Students.

Benefits: There are Two Scholarship amounts which are offered for MBA Students.

  1. A$10,000 towards academic tuition fees for one semester, or
  2. A$20,000 in total towards academic tuition fees across two semesters. The A$20,000 will be split evenly across the two associated semesters.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Students must have an unconditional offer of admission into the MBA (Leadership and Enterprise) within the University of Sydney Business School at the University of Sydney. The Scholarship is granted on the basis of academic merit, and a personal statement. The Scholarship will be awarded on the nomination of a selection committee. 

University of Sydney Business School Excellence in Leadership Scholarship:

This scholarship has been established in 2009 for Global Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) degree. It intends to promote academic excellence within the Executive MBA degree offered by the University of Sydney Business School. It is postgraduate coursework scholarship.

Benefits: It is Tuition fee scholarship to support students to study the Executive Master of Business Administration. Scholarship is for duration up to one and half year.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Students must have an unconditional offer to study the Executive MBA. The Scholarship is granted on the basis of academic merit, and a personal statement. The Scholarship will be awarded by a Selection Committee. 

Wendy and Christopher Adam Scholarship:

This scholarship has been established in 2020 by Wendy and Christopher Adam to support students of the University of Sydney, undertaking studies in the field of transport and/or logistics.

It is a postgraduate scholarship for transport and logistics students.

Benefits: The Scholarship grants up to A$2,000 in one installment.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Student must have admission letter in the Master of Transport. The Scholarship is granted on the basis of academic merit, and a personal statement. The Scholarship will be awarded by committee at Institute of Transport and Logistics.

The University of Sydney Law School Dean’s Scholarship:

This scholarship is awarded to international students for the Juris Doctor or Master of Laws courses at the University of Sydney Law School. 

Benefits:

There are two scholarships for International students. Students can apply both scholarships, as following scholarships are offered based on the applicants ranking against the selection criteria:

  1. It can cover full tuition fees for the duration of the degree.
  2. A$10,000 per annum for the duration of the degree.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

All International students can apply for this scholarship. Students must have admission letter in either Juris Doctor or Master of Laws at the University of Sydney Law School. The Scholarship is granted on the basis of academic merit, and a personal statement. The Scholarship will be awarded by committe at the Sydney Law School.

Wigram Allen Scholarship:

It is a postgraduate coursework scholarship.

Benefits: The scholarship grants A$6000 per annum and will be paid in two equal installments for each semester.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Students must have admission letter for Jurus Doctor Program at the University of Sydney Law School. The Scholarship is granted on the basis of academic merit, and a personal statement. The Scholarship will be awarded by committee. 

Deadline to apply is May each year. 

The University of Sydney Bioethics Scholarship:

This is scholarship for a Master of Bioethics student at the Sydney School of Public Health. 

Benefits: This scholarship is valued at A$10,000. The scholarship value will be paid directly towards the student’s tuition fees.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Student must have an unconditional offer of admission for full-time or part-time studies in a Master of Bioethics. The Scholarship is granted on the basis of academic merit, and a personal statement. The Scholarship will be awarded by committee. 

The University of Sydney Global Health Equity Scholarship:

It is a scholarship for Master of Global Health students. Who have experienced financial hardship or disadvantage, are preferred for this scholarship.

Benefits: This scholarship is valued at A$10,000. The scholarship value will be paid directly towards the student’s tuition fees

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Student must be enrolled for full-time or part-time studies in a Master of Global Health. Students who have experienced at least one of the following types of hardship and/or disadvantage are preferred.

  1. Financial hardship or belong to a rural or isolated area.
  2. Difficult family circumstances

The Scholarship is granted on the basis of academic merit, and a personal statement. The Scholarship will be awarded by committee. 

Deadlines are open from September to February. 

Undergraduate, Master’s & PhD Scholarships in Faculties of University of Sydney

Here are scholarships for international students in faculties for undergraduate degree courses, master’s degree courses & PhD at University of Sydney.

Business School International Scholarship:

The Business School International awards scholarships to international students at University of Sydney. Undergraduate and Postgraduate students can apply for the scholarships.  

Benefits: There are two scholarships for students. Following two scholarship’s grants are awarded based on selection criteria.

  1. A$10,000 payable for one semester.
  2. A$5000 payable for one semester.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

All International students can apply for this scholarship. Students must have admission letter of a bachelor’s or master’s degree at the University of Sydney Business School. The Scholarship is granted on the basis of academic merit, and a personal statement. The Scholarship will be awarded by committee consisting of two senior academic nominees.

Engineering Sydney Industry Placement Scholarship:

This Scholarship supports senior students undertaking their industry placement within the Faculty of Engineering.

Benefits: Grant is valued A$18,500 and is paid in monthly installments for the duration of the placement which is for 6 months. 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Student should be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree, postgraduate coursework or combined degree in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sydney. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of being a successful recipient of the relevant Faculty placement Scheme.

Engineering Vacation Research Internship Program Scholarship:

It is designed to provide support for a research career at a university or in industry for all international students. While, It grants funds for undergraduate and postgraduate coursework. It supports to undergraduate and postgraduate students interested in pursuing a research career at a university or in industry. 

Benefits: Grant is valued A$500 per week for the duration of the Engineering Vacation Research Internship Program. 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Student must be enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at the University of Sydney or at another Australian university. Students should have the background knowledge, skills and experience required for the nominated research projects. The Scholarship is based on  academic merit. Relevant background and skills for the projects would help students to get selected for this scholarship.

Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences International Scholarship:

It is Scholarship for exceptional international students. Both bachelor’s and master degree students can apply for these scholarships. Funds are awarded for international students starting a bachelor’s or master’s degrees at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at University of Sydney. 

Benefits: The scholarship is valued A$20,000 per annum.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

All International students can apply for this scholarship. Student must have enrolled for a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree course in Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at University. The Scholarship is granted on the basis of academic merit and a personal statement.

There are two deadlines for these scholarships October and June each year. 

Self Sourced Placement Scholarship:

It has been Established in 2019 by the University of Sydney Business School. Scholarship is awarded for undergraduate and postgraduate coursework.

Benefits: This scholarship is valued at A$2500 for students enrolled in Industry Self-Sourced Placement.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

All International students can apply for this scholarship. Student must have enrolled for a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree course in Sydney Business School. The Scholarship is granted on the basis of academic merit and a personal statement.

Strategic Exchange Partner Scholarships:

It is an undergraduate and postgraduate scholarship. This scholarship awards funds for students who are going on exchange at one of the University of Sydney Business School’s strategic partner universities.

Benefits: This scholarship is valued A$2000.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

International students should be enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree under the administration of the University of Sydney Business School. There is no separate Application, all students are considered automatically. The Scholarship is granted on the basis of academic merit and a personal statement.

Sydney Law School Exchange Scholarship:

This scholarship has been established by the University Of Sydney Law. The scholarship supports students for an undergraduate and postgraduate coursework.

Benefits: The scholarship is valued at A$2000 and will be paid as a lump sum payment.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Students must be enrolled in either a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) Program at the University of Sydney. Student with good grades are preferred. If you can explain your financial hardships, you can get grant to cover your expenses. The Scholarship will be awarded by committee consisting of two senior academic nominees.

The A-dec Australia Scholarship in Dentistry:

The A-dec is an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework scholarship for international students. This scholarship supports students for first year of a dentistry course. 

Benefits: This scholarship is valued at A$10,000.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Student must be be enrolled in the first year in the Doctor of Dental Medicine or the Bachelor of Oral Health. The Scholarship is granted on the basis of academic merit and a personal statement. The Scholarship will be awarded by committee consisting of two senior academic nominees.

Yim Family Foundation Scholarship in Law:

It is an undergraduate and postgraduate scholarship for students studying law at the University of Sydney. 

Benefits: The scholarship is valued at up to A$2500 and is paid as a one-off payment.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Student must be enrolled full-time in either the undergraduate combined law program or the Juris Doctor program. The Scholarship is granted on the basis of academic merit and a personal statement. The Scholarship will be awarded by committee consisting of two senior academic nominees.
