German Verbs to describe Job Tasks

1): unterrichten: to teach. – means to impart knowledge or to teach someone something.

Die Lehrerin unterrichtet. – The teacher teaches.

Ich unterrichte Musik. – I teach music.

Er unterrichtet Physik. – He teaches Physics.

Was unterrichtest du? – What do you teach?

Unterrichtest du Biologie? – Do you teach Biology?

Ich unterrichte Biologie und Chemie am Gymnasium. – I teach biology and chemistry at a secondary school.

2): servieren: to serve – means providing food and drinks and serving guests.

It is a regular verb.

Der Kellner serviert Essen. – The waiter serves food.

Ich serviere Essen. – I serve food.

3): verkaufen: to sell

It is a regular verb.

Der Verkäufer verkauft Produkte. – The shop assistant sells products.

Ich verkaufe Produkte. – I sell products.

Du verkaufst Schuhe. – You sell shoes.

4): pflegen: to care for

Die Krankenpflegerin pflegt Patienten. – The nurse cares for patients.
