Tuition fees in universities from the Flemish community vary from 50 Euros to 1,500 Euros per year for international students.

While, Tuition fees in universities from the French community vary from 890 Euros to 4,175 Euros per year for international students.

Meanwhile, Tuition fees in universities from the German community vary from 400 Euros to 500 Euros per year for international students.

ICP Scholarships

International master programme (ICP) is an accredited master programme consisting of 2 or 4 semesters on a subject that is relevant to or specific for sustainable development. ICP supports a selection of 15 ICPs and provides 12 scholarships per ICP programme.

Benefits of ICP Scholarship

The basic allowance of 1150 EUR per month covers the cost of meals, transport, personal expenses and accommodation. It is the responsibility of the Flemish host university to arrange accommodation for master scholars

Transportation to and from the embassy and/or airport in the home country and Belgium

Standard tuition fee for full-time registration to a master programme. The tuition fee is not transferred to the scholar’s account but tuition fees are paid directly to the institution.

Doctoral (PhD) scholarships are available in the framework of an academic research programme in Belgium for up to 4 years and leading to a doctoral degree.

What is eligibility criteria?

You can only apply for a scholarship if you meet the following requirements:

Priority is given to candidates who are employed in academic institutions, research institutes, governments, the social economy or NGOs, or who aim at a career in one of these sectors.

Master candidates employed in the profit sector or newly graduated candidates without any work experience can be eligible for the scholarship as well, depending on their motivation and profile.

The Master programme candidate has never received a scholarship from the Belgian government?to attend a master programme or equivalent or was never enrolled in a Flemish higher education institution to attend a master programme.

A candidate should be a national and resident of one of  31 eligible countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America to attend master’s programmes taught in English at a Flemish university or university college.

What is Selection Criteria?

The selection commission of each ICP-program will make a selection out of the eligible scholarship candidates.

Your Motivation letter plays an important role. it is essential that the motivation and professional goals of the candidate demonstrate the possibility to get selected. As preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate a higher possibility of implementing and transferring newly gained knowledge and skills upon return to the home country.

The selection committee aims at selection scholarship holders from different countries and regions and tries to ensure that 50% of a program’s scholarships are granted to candidates from Least Developed Countries or Other Low-Income Countries.

Preference is given to candidates who have never received a scholarship to study in a higher income country (bachelor or master).

What is the Application Procedure?
