Lund University offers scholarships to Study in Sweden for free International students. Master’s degree scholarships are offered by Lund University. The field of study should be a Master’s programme in industrial design. The scholarship is aimed at students with difficulties affording the tuition fee and living costs in Sweden by the Stichting IKEA Foundation. It is also called as Ingvar Kamprad Scholarship.
The international Master’s programme in Industrial Design offers students a platform to mature their individual skills and mindset to become masters of their future profession. In-depth studies within artistic, sociological and technological contexts and theories further students’ creative and intellectual flexibility. Using previously acquired competencies, students plan, visualize and implement strategies and concepts for new products, services and systems. By organizing exhibitions, taking part in seminars and workshops, students communicate their work, participate in the public debate and contribute to the creation of knowledge within the field of design.
What is Tuition Fee?
If you are required to pay tuition fees, you are generally pay SEK 420 000 for full programme. The First payment is SEK 105 000 of full tuition fee.
Students admitted to the Master’s Programme in Industrial Design can apply for one or two different scholarships depending on their country of origin.
Relevant: The Swedish Institute (SI) Scholarship is fully funded scholarship, receives funding each year to use for scholarships to international students.

For Tuition Fee
The Stichting IKEA Foundation established two new scholarships for tuition fees. Each scholarship is SEK 210 000 per year for two years.
The selection of scholarship recipients is based on the applicants’ portfolio, and the tuition fees will be paid directly to Lund University. This scholarship is only open to non-EU citizens admitted to the programme.
For Living Cost
The two scholarships awarded every year are for SEK 104 400 per year (about EUR 10 000) each, and aim to cover the cost of living and accommodation from August to July, during the two years of study. This scholarship is open to all students admitted to the programme.
The selection of scholarship recipients is based on a personal motivation statement included in the application.
What is Application Process?
You would have to fill in the application form and tick which scholarship you are applying for (one or both). If you are applying for the scholarship for living expenses, you must include a personal motivation stating why you should be granted this scholarship.
