Dear Sir/Madam
My name is ——– with application number ——— and I am writing to request you please consider me for admission at Karlstad University, Sweden for Master in Computer Science. Meanwhile, I consider myself a suitable candidate to secure admission for MS in Computer Science. I have enclosed the completed application and additional materials required by the university. While, I have done MS computer Science in 2004 and working from that time. Now I have almost 20 years of experience in this field. Meanwhile, I have worked in different firms in my homeland Pakistan and abroad. Currently, I am working in an IT company in USA.
Now I want to explore a MS degree in today’s time, which later can lead towards Ph.D. I feel like its time to jump into research field, because pursuing a Ph.D. is a unique and personal experience. This programme offers a wide range of possibilities, from a research track for students wishing to continue with Ph.D. studies to more practical applications, both of which may include an international aspect. Therefore, I have chosen this MS program at Karlstad University.
As, I think it can be really helpful to prepare myself for difficult task of Ph.D. Because, the programme structure is very good, As the first semester provides both a solid foundation in advanced computer networking and cyber security, as well as fundamental courses in advanced computer science. The second semester reinforces the focus on networked systems and cyber security, with advanced courses on, e.g., wireless systems and ethical hacking. While, the most exciting part of course is, there are elective courses in third semester. So, I would like to choose subjects which are related to research areas. Finally, I would like to do the thesis within the department.
After completion of the Master’s degree, I would like to continue with further studies to earn a Ph.D. My job experience of many years would be very helpful to short list research areas in the third and fourth semesters of the programme. Therefore, I would have the possibility to start studying research topics and choose research topic, about which I would be really passionate. Admittedly, it is a journey driven by personal ambitions and pride. I have a curious mind and am interested in diving deep into a particular technology.
Researching in Computer Science is particularly exciting because software technology moves faster than other areas of science. Every day, a new programming language is being created, a new paradigm or methodology is proposed, a new piece of open-source software is released, etc. The feeling of being at the forefront of such a technological revolution could be extremely gratifying. While, I possess the urge to learn and experiment, and at the same time, dream about making a difference in the world, then this MS program will give me a chance to pursue such sublime goals.
