My name is ———– and I want to apply for M.Sc. Innovation, Business and Sustainability (MIBAS) at the University of ———- Germany. While I have read information about this MS program on the university website with keen interest. I have a master’s degree in Business Administration. At the same time, I can demonstrate high knowledge of core business areas, including finance, marketing, and strategy. Well, I have more than six years of relevant job experience. I have worked for different companies in different countries. Currently, I am working in Germany as a Senior Market Performance Manager. I have attached all relevant documents to help me secure admission. In my opinion, I consider myself the most suitable candidate for selection for this master’s course.

The Master in Sustainable Business and Innovation is targeted at students from diverse backgrounds, both cultural and academic. My education and work experience in diverse cultures and situations compelled me to apply for this program. While my previous master’s program gave me fundamental management and business knowledge across areas like marketing, finance and accounting. Meanwhile developing those vital soft skills and leadership skills, I have played significant roles in my professional life for the last few years. As part of this program at Hamburg University, I intend to enhance my skill set by developing innovative and sustainable solutions for business. My previous education and experience are perfectly aligned with this Master of Science in Sustainability Business and Innovation. Using business tools to solve the world’s most urgent social and environmental issues is my goal.

Over the years, I have worked in different organizations and companies as a manager and I have the power to take decisions by consulting with management. Now I want to integrate sustainability practices for business into a company by blending my work experience and the knowledge gained through this program. In other words, companies that understand sustainability perform better than their competitors due to the fact that sustainability is the only option available. I might start my own purpose-driven company for sustainable solutions. Because I will get the latest thinking on sustainable business, entrepreneurship and innovation during my studies. While this MSc will empower me to drive change within teams, firms, and industries.

MIBAS focuses on developing specific expertise and skills in the areas of international management and sustainability. The exciting part of this program is that I can choose from a variety of courses throughout the two-year degree program, which consists of six modules covering compulsory subject areas. Therefore, I may supplement my core studies by selecting from a variety of elective courses, as there are no compulsory courses in the program. Overall, the program structure is really impressive.

As the first semester is devoted to covering basic theoretical knowledge surrounding business management and research methodology, While the second and third semesters offer advanced courses in Innovation, Sustainability and Knowledge Exchange in Management, Sustainability in Management and Sustainable Finance and Accounting. Meanwhile, the final semester concludes with a master’s thesis. While another reason to choose this program is, As a student in the Sustainable Business and Innovation Master’s programme, I will gain the knowledge and skills to engage with businesses and help them become more sustainable.

During my studies at Hamburg University for this master’s program, I will acquire expertise in the fields of management, innovation, and sustainability, as well as finance and accounting. I will also acquire knowledge of relevant institutional frameworks and develop the ability to grasp the complex interactions that occur in an increasingly global economy. The program will also help me to develop the skills required to create sustainable value for both companies and society. Meanwhile, I will learn about methods and instruments in modern management. Additionally, I will acquire knowledge of basic concepts in economic analyses and will acquire knowledge of fundamental methodological skills for empirical social research. Therefore, I want to take this course to enhance my qualification and to cope with the current global world.

In business, sustainability refers to doing business without negatively impacting the environment, the community, or society as a whole. Sustainability in business generally addresses two main categories: the effect business has on the environment, and secondly, the effect business has on society. The goal of a sustainable business strategy is to make a positive impact in at least one of those areas. When companies fail to assume responsibility, the opposite can happen, leading to issues like environmental degradation, inequality, and social injustice. Sustainable businesses consider a wide array of environmental, economic, and social factors when making business decisions. These organizations monitor the impact of their operations to ensure that short-term profits don’t turn into long-term liabilities. Therefore, I think firms and companies have responsibility to society and they should focus on becoming a change agent by developing innovative and sustainable businesses. 

While this program will prepare me to take on challenging positions in multinational companies and organizations. Moreover, I may also pursue doctoral studies, which will open the door to a career in academia. I aim to develop my career and skills in helping businesses and organizations to solve urgent and emerging environmental, economic, societal, and welfare global challenges. With an environment brimming with inclusion, unity, and boundless knowledge, learning continues within and beyond campus walls to develop innovators, leaders and change-makers who can contribute to the community and build strong border less networks.
