My name is —— and I want to apply for Master’s in Economics and Mathematics at University of ——– Norway. While, I have BSc in Mathematics-Economics from my homeland University. There are enough credits of mathematics and economics that I studied during my bachelor’s degree course. And I believe it would be very helpful during this master’s studies. Meanwhile, I have more than six years of work in Mathematics, because I am a teacher. I have taught Mathematics at different levels, from higher secondary school to bachelor’s level. Therefore, I consider myself a quite relevant applicant, who want to secure admission at very competitive University to master’s program of excellent structure. I will receive a thorough grounding in analysis, algebra and mathematical methods. While I will also take introductory economics comprising both microeconomics and macroeconomics. I realized after going through university’s web portal, after the basic foundations there is a range of options in both mathematics and economics in the third and fourth years. The fourth year will include a major project, which will involve a substantial piece of written work and a presentation. Therefore, I am too excited to face these challenges in my two years stay at the University as a student. And I love to take challenges.

There are close and exciting connections between parts of economic theory and certain areas of abstract mathematics. The MSc program will allow me for additional in-depth study, providing the skills necessary for academic research in mathematics and economics. While, I will develop my skills in mathematical reasoning, problem-solving and accurate mathematical manipulation. I will also learn to handle abstract concepts and think critically, argue logically and express myself clearly.

A mathematics degree is highly valued by employers due to the skills in logical thinking, analysis, problem-solving and, of course, numeracy, that it develops. After graduation, I would be able to use my mathematical skills in careers, such as forecasting, risk analysis and trading; in financial services, such as accountancy, banking and insurance; and scientific research, information technology and industry.
