My name is —– and I want to apply for a Master’s in Public Health at the University ——- Lithuania. My previous education is BS Human Nutrition and Dietetics. While, I have more than five years of full-time work experience after graduation in my bachelor’s. Meanwhile, I was involved in voluntary work and unpaid internship at the start of my professional career. Therefore, I learned a lot during my professional career. I have attached experience letters and academic certificates including my resume. I consider myself a suitable candidate for the selection in this program.
The master’s programme in Public Health has been developed to meet the ever-evolving need for trained public health professionals. With a large health systems workforce required in the public and private sectors as well as academia, this high-quality innovative curriculum will help me to become public health leader. Meanwhile, I would be empowered to manage and solve the many health problems faced by the population of my homeland and countries in the region. The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted even more acutely that well-trained public health professionals are critical proving the relevance of the programme globally. The breadth and depth of knowledge through multidisciplinary integrated concepts, self-directed learning, inquiry, critical analysis and expression of thoughts. While I have the opportunity to Strengthen my skills through the model of competency-based education.
The overall objectives of the programme are to develop and offer a competency-based curriculum that is designed to address the burden of major public health problems and health system challenges. Additionally, This program will equip me with knowledge and skills to systematically analyse and solve public health problems and address population health challenges with a focus on achieving equity in health. While, I will get a self-directed learning experience using innovative educational methods. Teaching methods are interactive and diverse comprising lectures, tutorials, discussions, and e-learning. The programme has a continuous evaluation system including presentations, quizzes, and mid-semester and final assessments during each semester.
The programme offers a breadth of knowledge and transferable skill in different areas of public health. After graduation from this programme, I may opt for public sectors at the local, provincial and federal levels, national and international private and non-governmental organisations, academia and research institutions. Careers include but are not limited to administrative roles, field-based programmes, education and research. Therefore, I am looking forward to getting admission to this program.
