Whether ”ein Haus ”or ”eine Wohnung” depends on your preferences.

Ein Haus ist ein Gebäude, das meist mehrere Stockwerke hat. (A house is a building that usually has several floors.)
Ein Bungalow ist auch ein Haus, hat aber nur eine Etage. (A bungalow is also a house, but it only has one floor.)
Eine Wohnung hat normalerweise nur ein Stockwerk und ist in einer Etage. (An apartment usually has only one floor and is in one floor.)
